Also known as: Dion of Syracuse, Dion Syracusanus
A politician of Syracuse and a disciple of Plato, whose attempts to implement Platonic political theory in Sicily are chronicled in Plato's Seventh Letter. He is often cited in Renaissance political thought as an example of the philosopher-statesman.
